Cardinal Glass Industries
Cardinal Insulating Glass (IG) boasts the industry's lowest insulating glass failure rate, with fewer than 0.2% of all units experiencing issues over a 20-year period. As a leading automated glass manufacturer, Cardinal consistently produces highly durable, consistently uniform, and impeccably clean insulating glass units that are distributed across the nation.

Cardinal's LoĒ²-272 coated glass ensures year-round comfort by effectively managing various weather conditions. During summer, it deflects the sun's heat and harmful UV rays, while in winter, it reflects heat back into the room. LoĒ²-272 offers slightly higher light transmittance, providing a brighter interior.
Cardinal's LoĒ²-270 coated glass ensures year-round comfort by effectively managing various weather conditions. During summer, it deflects the sun's heat and harmful UV rays, while in winter, it reflects heat back into the room. LoĒ²-270 focuses more on solar control, minimizing heat penetration.
Cardinal LoĒ²-240® glass is the perfect solution for glare issues, offering year-round comfort. It effectively blocks solar heat gain in the summer and keeps glass temperatures warm in the winter. Unlike other tinted glass options, LoĒ²-240 maintains consistent appearance and performance across various glass thicknesses, as it is a coating applied to clear glass.
LoĒ-i89™ is a new energy-saving glass with a 4th surface coating. Nevertheless, it maintains a center-of-glass U-factor of just 0.20 when combined with our LoĒ³ or LoĒ² glass and argon fill in a double-pane unit. What's more, LoĒ-i89 is easy to clean, and there's no haze to mar the view.
In chilly weather, Cardinal LoĒ-180™ glass serves as the perfect solution, keeping homes cozy by preventing heat loss and allowing sunlight to penetrate. With a low glass U-Factor of 0.26 and a Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) of 0.69, LoĒ-180 excels in passive solar applications, providing both warmth and energy efficiency.
With Neat+, exterior window surfaces demand less frequent maintenance, and when cleaning is necessary, it becomes a quicker and easier process. Neat+ employs static dissipation to minimize dust accumulation on the window surface. Additionally, it harnesses the power of sunlight to break down greenhouse gases and pollutants, contributing to a naturally cleaner window.

XL EDGE SPACER SYSTEM
Cardinal provides a 20-year guarantee on XL Edge units because of their advanced design and fabrication. XL Edge is at the leading edge, incorporating a stainless steel spacer with airtight bent corners and a dual-seal construction of compressed polyisobutylene (PIB) and silicone. Desiccants are contained in the spacer to eliminate any potential for moisture. Argon is filled inside the IG unit, improving window U-factor. Since XL Edge is a warm-edge IG, the possibility of indoor condensation is greatly reduced.
Cardinal's superior IG construction translates into a 0.2% seal failure rate over twenty years - plainly the lowest in the industry. To compare, the well-established 1976 Sealed Insulating Glass Manufacturing Association (SIGMA) study identifies average industry IG failures of over 9% in fifteen years. Modern competitive spacer systems simply cannot match the long-term durability characteristics of XL Edge IG. Even older Cardinal technologies, like IG with aluminum spacers and polysulfide or PIB, didn't stack up against XL Edge.
CLEAR GLASS TYPES
Cardinal IG provides a range of clear glass thickness options along with corresponding maximum square footage recommendations for single-pane glass and dual/triple-pane insulating glass units. It's important to note that additional constraints may be applicable based on the specific glass type chosen and the size of the unit.

U-Value (U-Factor) quantifies the ability of a product to retain heat within a room. It is a measure of thermal insulation, with lower values indicating better heat retention.
SHGC (Solar Heat Gain Coefficient) assesses a product's resistance to unwanted heat gain, particularly crucial during the summer cooling season. A lower SHGC signifies reduced spending on cooling as the product is more effective in blocking heat.
VT (Visible Transmittance) measures a product's capability to illuminate a home with natural daylight, potentially reducing reliance on artificial lighting. A higher VT value indicates that more natural light is allowed into the space.
